If your target is to do an MBA in the future, I think you should not apply for the second BA. It will not help you much. I dont agree that it shows your interest for the target sector. You should plan to work in a good firm.
Dont worry about a slight dip in GPA. If you can get an excellent GMAT score, it will cover any problems with your GPA. Thats the general norm.
JD might be an option but I am not sure it will help more than few years of good work experience.
If I were you, I would work for few years. Excel at that company. Get some leadership roles, promotions, awards, etc. And then, go for an MBA. Good luck!

First time poster here and I need serious help! I guess a bit of a background first
23 years old
BA in Psychology (3.02 GPA) from small Christian school
Currently a 2L at a 15-20 law school hovering around median, significant scholarship (168 LSAT)
No work experience (tennis coach during undergrad and just one legal summer internship)
My ultimate goal is to work in finance and get an MBA. However there are several hurdles in my path at the moment. Getting a JD/MBA essentially helps me in neither field since law firms don't view it as a bonus and finance companies will not even let me in the door with work experience. Clearly the advice would be to go out and just apply to finance jobs or internships but the combination of my low GPA and major make that difficult. While in my freshman semester I had a death in my immediate family which crushed my GPA. My final two years I rebounded and brought my GPA during those semesters to about a 3.80. Several of the options I have thought about are:
(1) Applying to the JD/MBA program (710 GMAT)
(2) Dropping out and returning to University of San Diego to get a second BA in finance in 3 semesters and attempting to secure a job (pros - save a crap load of money because I would have help paying for my second BA, family, cons - more school, not sure if it would even help)
(3) Continuing with the JD and working as a prosecutor for a few years --> MBA as a career changer
I know there will be the questions of why I went to law school in the first place but like I said I have had a complicated life and ended up floating through my education with no real thought or desire in what to do. Getting a second BA seems like a nice way to really restart and display a desire to be in the field, but I'm not sure if it will actually help. Also the MBA from my current school is "Near Elite." Also, sorry if this is jumbled, it's late.
