I applied this year, so it must have been 1000, but sure felt like more! I think i came in somewhere at 750.

One more point to add: I have heard that the adcom just read the essay once, and things should be very clear in the first read itself. So just give the essay to someone who have not read your essays before, and ask them what is the first impression they get. if it is in line with what you intend to convey then you are fine. ( we generally ask the same person to proof read it again, so it may get the right results as the person is already aware of what you wrote).

That's the next step. Yup. Absolutely. No, I don't want adcom to miss what I am saying.

Yeah, tell me something. And I honestly don't know the answer to this one. Isn't a typical adcom reviewer for a top bschool more sophisticated in what she picks up from an essay than a lay reader? If yes, then have you guys done anything by way of engineering your essay to suit this more sophisticated reader? Obviously, you don't want to make things too obvious and in-your-face. Yet, you don't want to put the veil on so tight that she can't take it off! So, how do you find the middle ground.

All the best guys... R-2 guys, plz share your results :) guess they're going to be out in a few hours ..
any idea how they communicate the results (as in mail like cambridge--or on the app portal like harvard) ?

Yeap... Results will be out in few more hours... I think we may get an email from oxford.

1) It seems Oxford admission Dept is least bothered about changing the status in the app portal. My app status is still showing " Submitted" although I had given my interview. I didn't see any changes in the app status throughout this admission process.

2) Interview decisions were delivered through email. As far as I know, all the short listed candidates received emails.

3) To my knowledge, all R1 admits got the decision through email only.\

Hence I am expecting the decision through mail.

Yep, that's what i've heard, most likely mail. Its 1:11 AM here, so I might stay up till about 2:30ish, and setting my Alarm for 8AM :)

Stage 2 decisions for the 2012-13 MBA & MFE programmes will be sent out today before 12pm UK time. Good luck everyone!

Above is the update from Oxford SBS admissions dept in facebook. Now it is 9:40AM in UK .... So the R2 results will be released in another couple of hours....

@Gmanster, don't sleep for another two hours man.... :))
