All - little background -- been working ~4 years, usually 50-60 hours a week, decided to start studying Jan 10th for April 14th test date.
really was committed to it, 2-3 hours weekdays, 5-7 hours weekends.
Practice tests started slow, around 650 but last 4 were
690 Q44 V40 GMAT
710 Q48 V38 Manhattan
730 Q50 V38 ( I think) GMAT
710 Q48 V38 Manhattan
Real deal?
Coughed up a 660
V38 Q42
I didnt sleep but 2 hours before and got tied up on some math problems early..
i have it scheduled for May 17th but just am so burnt out..have done some studying but am not sure im mentally ready to get back in the ring..
that being said, I feel like a 42Q was a big outlier..i honestly just want a 700+
should i take 2 months off or push through?
Hard to say. I was in the same place as you were,
MGMAT-CAT-test-score-wise. I was consistently scoring 700+ in the week before taking the exam and scored a 680 (Q45 V38). I took almost a whole month off with very minimal maintenance studying then I studied my butt off for the month leading up to my retake. That worked well for me because I have to be in the right mindset to do something all-in. From that point-of-view, I'd say hold off on the retake until you really feel like you can fully commit yourself to studying.
The other side of the coin is the introduction of Integrated Reasoning into the test. Do you want to have to add another section that you've never seen before into your study rotation? Food for thought, at least.
Good luck with your retake.
