Hi,

I have a quick technical question for those who have submitted. On the Columbia online application, is there a way to preview a consolidated version of all the components (test scores, essays, extracurricular activities) of your application before submitting it. When you hit “review” the only options are “submit application” or “save for later.” In other schools, you can see the application parts put together and print it for review. I’m afraid if I hit submit, it will submit and I will only see the consolidated version too late, after submitting. Thanks.

I submitted recently, and I didn't see any chance to review the complete package. I had to go over each section 100 times. It was agonizing - OCD for sure.

RE: Recommendation Letters.

Columbia has listed 8 questions to include in the recommendation letters. Will the person writing my recommendation letter need to answer every single one of them? Will it affect my application if he/she forgets to answer one of the question or doesn't think it's relevant? I don't want something that is out of my control (like what my recommendator writes) to be a reason for concern.

Does anyone know when adcom starts to review applications? I submitted 10 days ago and still no status update to "under review".

Just curious as I'm excited to get the process underway and hear back!

They list specific questions so it woukd be safe to assume they want those questions answered. It is in your best interest to make sure you explain that to your recommenders and help coach them on what CBS is looking for.

Where is everybody? Is this a low volume year? Let's get some conversation going! Has anybody who applied for 2013 start (j-term or ED/RD) seen any status update on his/her app? I am stuck as "submitted" for 2 weeks to the day now.

I totally underestimated the patience required for the rolling process - lol - help ease the pain with some commiserating!

Based on last year I don't think things get rolling til August, and the earliest acceptances I remember seeing were in mid September
