i'm getting a consistent Q-48/49 .
i' m an engg student and i know i can do better. i'm still making around 10 mistakes per test in quant. how do i up my score or improve accuracy?

the questions in OG are very simple. i find questions while giving tests (GmatPrep) much tougher and challenging.

what should i do? my exam is in 2 weeks so going out and buying a new book doesn't make sense. is there anything online that might help me?

The better question is, "how are you doing with verbal?"

and more of data sufficiency i lose marks in. i wouldn't say that i'm exceptionally weak in a particular area. it's rather spread out.

If most of the mistakes are careless/silly, and you realise after the fact that you did actually know how to correctly answer the questions, then it would seem that you have to focus on making sure that you're checking your answers. Are you finishing up the Q segment just in time, with a little to spare, or with plenty of extra minutes to go? If you find that you're going through them a little too quickly, then maybe you should try to slow down a little. Answer each question, and then go through the entire question again to make sure that you have it done right.

It is possible that if you take GMAT today, you get Q49 and if you take it tomorrow, you get Q50. I don't think you are spending your time well by worrying about 1 point increase in Quant. It won't help your overall score much. Beyond Q49, what matters is just your presence of mind and how well you perform under pressure. You are probably good with pretty much every relevant concept in Quant.
Try to work on Verbal in the remaining time. Effort put in verbal will add much more to your score than effort put in Quant at this time.

Hi! I was an engineering graduate myself. I took the GMAT on July 3 and I found Bunuel's problem sets and solution explanations to be quite helpful. They are almost exclusively 700+ level questions. Some of them are more like 750+. He's a bit asset to the GMAT Club community.

Hello from the GMAT Club BumpBot!

Thanks to another GMAT Club member, I have just discovered this valuable topic, yet it had no discussion for over a year. I am now bumping it up - doing my job. I think you may find it valuable (esp those replies with Kudos).
