I am new at GMAT club and wanted to get evaluated on my profile. I applied to Yale, Columbia, nyu, Cornell last year but got rejected by all schools. My GMAT was weak- I applied with a 640 (approx. 65% in both). I retook the GMAT and got a 670 (verbal 82%, math 67%). Below is my profile:
Indian male, 28 years old
Graduated from UNC Chapel Hill Business School with 3.8 gpa
Working for PWC Boston office for 6.5 years in financial consulting - management position
Consulting projects include experience with international clients
Received CFA
Strong volunteer experience with international social organization
Hobbies include golf, tennis, guitar
My target schools are the above from last year plus LBS, Michigan and Duke. I wanted to get an idea of my chances with both the schools I plan to reapply to as well as the new schools given my increased GMAT score.
I appreciate your time.
I hate to be discouraging, but even with the increased score I am not optimistic about your chances at these programs, especially CBS and NYU. No harm in trying if you want to try, but unless there is something truly remarkable in your experience or application volume declines again this year, it's going to be hard for you to compete.
If you tell me what you want to do post-MBA, I could maybe recommend a few schools.
You may want to take a look at
