A football team's fans expect the team to make the playoffs. [#permalink]
This passage has 4 statements; this first three are general and the last one is very specific (specific to a particular team, namely the NYG). Since the New York Giants (NYG) has been mentioned, the right answer has to include something about this team.

So, let us take a look at the available answer choices:

A) Other teams will not upset their fans only if they win the Super Bowl. -Irrelevant to NYG. Hence, eliminate (A)

B) A team that doesn't think its fans want it to make the playoffs will certainly not make the playoffs. - Irrelevant to NYG. Hence, eliminate (B).

C) The Giants' primary goal is possible only if they win the Super Bowl. - Okay. We already know that NYG wants to keep its fans happy. Additionally, it is mentioned in the passage that NYG fans will be happy if NYG wins the super bowl. So,by sticking strictly to the context of the passage, we can infer that the only way that NYG can achieve its objective (to keep its fans happy) is for it to win the super bowl. This is exactly what (C) says. Hence, (C) is the right answer.

D) If a team is happy just to make the playoffs one year, it won't make the playoffs next year. - this is irrelevant to NYG. Hence, eliminate (D).

E) The Giants' fans are not currently upset. - We cannot infer this because the passage does not tell us whether NYG won the super bowl. Hence, eliminate (E)
