Hello,
I took my GMAT today and got dismal 380. I was getting around 500 on the prep tests and I can't believe I bombed the actual test. Needless to say, I'm questioning whether I want to try again and spend money on another test and/or classes to improve my score or to apply somewhere like DeVry where I don't need a GMAT score.
Here's what I have:
380 GMAT score: 11Q, 28V
English is my second language as I came to America when I was 9.
Schools: Purdue University: 1 year, Loyola University: 3 years.
Graduated in 2008 with a 3.6 GPA.
I've had 4 years of professional experience working primarily in marketing and graphic design. I own and run my own freelance graphic design business and manage 2 employees.
I have 2 great letters of recommendation and strong essays.
However, even with all of the above, I don't think it's enough to balance out my sad GMAT score. I'd like to apply to University of Colorado-Denver and Colorado State University. Considering I'm not applying to top 10 schools, however, they still need a score in the 500s. Would it be worth it for me to even apply and spend money on an application fee or is my application going to get discarded as soon as they see my GMAT score?
My other question is (and perhaps this is a topic for a different board), is it worth it to go to one of the above state schools vs. DeVry Keller? Will there be a huge difference in salary and/or easier to hire depending if I went to one or the other?
Thanks for all advice in advance.
Thank you, Polina
