Re: Shouldn't all future B-Schoolers vote for Romney? [#permalink]
I agree that the economy has slowly improved since 2009; however, there are many many businesses out there just waiting to decide if they want to deploy capital and continue expansion, or, if Obama wins, hold on to capital and slow growth. Not to mention the fact that many companies have come out against Obamacare saying that it will increase their costs dramatically and they'd rather just drop healthcare for their employees and pay the imposed penalty. In addition, don't all top b-schoolers plan on making A LOT of money? I don't want to pay more taxes when I'm making over $250K. Anyways, just some points to ponder.

I guess if you are planning on making A LOT of money, then Romney is certainly your guy. :)

But really, I just can't see Obama as being terribly business-unfriendly. Both parties are big boosters of the free market system and of international trade. Obviously the Republicans are a bit more "business friendly." But not by much.

Anyhow, I know I will be tuned into the results as they roll in tomorrow. Very exciting viewing!

We're screwed! Ok, not really, but look at the hit the markets took today because of Obama's anticipated actions relating to the "fiscal cliff". Interesting stuff, we'll see what happens the next four years.

I'd much rather make a little less (or a lot less) money, than live in a place governed by guys who have to define rape as "honest rape", "legitimate rape", "forcible rape", etc. Oh, and let's not forget Clayton Williams, that Republican running for Governor who said something about rape like, "If it's inevitable, just relax and enjoy it."

And the fact that this is the party that...

a) pushes voter ID laws to disenfranchise Americans on the basis of nonexistent voter fraud
b) ignores the whole "freedom of religion" part of the Constitution
c) denies marriage to certain people citing family values, but lets Newt Gingrich to use daughters from his first wife to convince everyone that his second wife is lying about his third wife

etc., etc.,

Yeah. Obama it is.

Just wondering the sentiment out there regarding the election. I, for one, am voting for Romney and would almost consider not enrolling in an MBA program if Obama is reelected. I just think that Romney has proven his pro-business platform and that we will see a lot more hiring and job growth in 2015 (when I would be graduating) with Romney in the White House. Thoughts?

If you believe Romney is a great businessman, support him for Sec of Commerce or Treasury or the like.

But I don't buy the premise that Romney is a great businessman. I've done extensive reading on his "success" and my guess is you are basing your opinion on Romney's net worth and not how he got there. Here's a sampling:

Romney grabbed more of the pie at the expense of regular joes like me and you.
