Coming to A

Red - Dependent clause (because it doesnt have noun)
Blue - Independent Clause
Green - Dependent Clause

Here construction looks like DC,so IC DC
But it should be IC,so IC

Therefore A is out...

Coming to C

Due to his being happy, following his family’s traditions from his upbringing,my college friend Sangwoo requests that people take off their shoes when entering his apartment.

Here
Yellow -- ING modifier modifies preceded by comma so it modifiers preceding clause (Due to his happy)

This seems to be illogical...
Therefore C is out

Coming to B

Because it makes him happy following the traditions from his family upbringing,my college friend Sangwoo requests that people take off their shoes when entering his apartment.

this construction is
DC, IC DC

Here "Because.... " adds info to my college friend.

Also him pronoun refers to my college friend.

A. To follow traditions from his family upbringing makes him happy, so from his family upbringing - wrong tense
B. Because it makes him happy following the traditions from his family upbringing, correct
C. Due to his being happy, following his family’s traditions from his upbringing, due to = caused by. Does not fit here
D. Since Sangwoo is happy to follow traditions from his family’s upbringing, wrong cause-effect : since he is happy, he requests. It should be since it makes him happy so he asks
E. For him, following his family upbringing makes him feeling happy, so makes him feeling happy - can there be a worse grammatical error?

So, IMO answer is B

A couple of questions for B

(i) What does "it" refer to?
(ii) " it makes him happy following the traditions" should be "it makes him happy to follow"
I think the "to infinitive" is better than the "gerund" form in this case

What do you guys think?

i)I feel "it" is here to make assertion.
ex- It is better to caste our vote rather than to sit idle on election day.
ii)Yes, IMO, infinitive contruction is preferrable.
But still, I feel there is a subtle difference.

Its B !!!
Doesn't seem as 700 level question as ans choices are very different from 1 another & in real 700 level qstn they provide you with such close options that it becomes very hard to choose correct answer

By the way reasoning as follows

The question is about meaning clarity I.e. and choice B only provides clear the meaning as it explained g the reason why sagoosh asked his friends to keep out their shoes ...wch is mentioned in be a use x, y structure beautifully
