Darden (Virginia) 2013 - Calling All Applicants!

yeah, i've heard with Darden at least, it's not a "no" until you offically get a "no". people that were admitted have received interviews up until the decision date

Obviously varies by year, but I was under the impression (based on some superficial analysis of prior years' applicant data) that Darden interviews roughly 45-55% of applicants.

My question is that they say they reserve the right to invite up until the decision release date, but if that happens when will you find out if you're admitted or not? When will you interview? Still waiting...west coast.

My application is still in "Submitted status", even though I submitted mid-october.

That's OK. My status is still on "Submitted", even after I have been invited to interview.

So is there no other way of knowing whether you have been invited other than the mail, which could have been sent to trash/spam folder instead and got deleted?

anyways...it helps calm down my nerves a bit.....mine also shows submitted.

I understand your concern, but I think you should just relax and trust the adcom. It's very unlikely that they will "forget" you. My email said that I will be contacted by an alumni to schedule the interview within 10 working days. So even if your email was deleted, you will still be contacted by the alumni to schedule the interview

No interview calls this week? or have applicants just not bothered to update their status? Or perhaps they are busy preparing for the interviews?

Can anybody that's already interviewed provide some insight on the line of questioning to expect? is it still the general "tell me your story" approach this year?

I interviewed this past week. Yes - it's the same. Totally blind interview - no resume, no application.

any input regarding whether darden will open later interview dates? I was invited last week which is too short of notice to take off for this coming week and right now the latest dec interview date is 12/10 (which is filled).

I'm attending a class visit this week, prior to my interview later this week.
I'm straight on interview attire, but what should i wear to a class visit? I would default at business casual but don't want to stick out like a sore thumb if everyone wears jeans/tees to class.

I interviewed last Monday along with 15-20 other students. Everyone wore their interview attire all day long...including to the class visit. You likely will not be the only prospective sitting in on your class so a suit will be fine. It seems like the Darden students are pretty used to prospectives wandering around and sitting in on classes.
