Applying for R2 - lets hope I make it in time.

Danish/Australian. Design / Project Management / Venture background. GMAT 730, Q47, V45. GPA 3.53 - Major: Theater

My biggest worry is that my Quant score is relatively low for Berkeley and my major not being quant focussed makes this worse (though I did take lots of math, engineering and business/finance classes). Any suggestions/words of advice very welcome.

Anyway, good luck to all!

Btw I am having trouble finding the questions asked of recommenders. Are they the same as last year? Am I somehow missing it on the post info, or does someone know where I can find out?
Thanks

I submitted for R1 in October and received and interview invitation last week. I was a little surprised myself - but it seems like they are slowly trickling out. Good luck everyone!

You can download the sample recommendation form that also contains the questions from the website.

Is there anybody else who's facing problems in uploading their transcripts/resume to Berkeley's online application? I'm uploading pdf version of my transcripts and resume but am getting the following errors repeatedly -

The form was not submitted because of the following error(s)

The resume file 'xxxx.pdf' is not a valid file type. Please upload a valid file type your resume.

Just bumped into this question and although I presume the problem probably has been solved since then, I guess it might be useful to share the answer if anyone else bumps into this problem:

Try uploading with IE, as I got the same error when trying to upload with Firefox, but IE worked fine.

My status description recently changed to:
"Your application for admission to the Berkeley Full-time MBA Program is under review by the Admissions Committee. You will be contacted at the decision deadline to see your final admissions decision. "
Does anyone who has received an interview invitation know the average time this status remained so before they received invitations?

Thanks.

My status changed within a week or two of submission. I don't think the switch date matters that much.

Hi there, I would use the supplemental essays to explain all the quant work you did and intensity of it. Also, if possible I would ask reccomenders to back up the claim as well.

Also other essays are good place to display that. For example one of the Haas's defining principal is "Confidence without attitude" and one of the key definition for that is "We make decisions based on evidence and analysis". This is clearly reflected in their E3 and you can use it to display how you proposed a change and supported it with some solid data analysis. This way you will kill two birds with one stone. Culture fit and display your quant skills.

I hope this helped.

I'm applying for R2 (Nov 29th). I gave TOEFL iBT on 16th this month and obviously haven't received my scores yet. The online application does not let me enter just the test date and leave the scores as blank, even though the instructions at the top seem to say otherwise.

"If you have recently taken the TOEFL/IELTS and your scores are not yet available, enter the date of the test and leave the score areas blank."

Has anyone else been in such situation? If yes, is there is a recommended course of action (enter 0s for all the scores)?

Tried IE and Firefox with no luck. Anything in particular you would recommend? :)

If nothing else works, I'll drop in a mail to adcom tomorrow, although I may have to wait until monday to get a response.

If you tried those two then it's probably a different problem. (I had problems uploading files into the online app with Firefox, IE however worked.)
