Anyone else repeating themselves in the essays. Especially in essay #2 (your greatest accomplishment) and essay #5 (-the part about how your experience so far has helped you prepare you to achieve your goal)?

I went personal with #2. Definitely don't repeat yourself.

In U and I.

I don't think it's a problem as long as you don't go into details in both essays - in other words, if there's no overlapping content.

In my achievement essay I present a project I worked on in detail, explaining the task, my role, the result and why I consider it important. I mention the same project in my #5 essay but it's just two sentences to highlight it as one of my main reasons in deciding to pursue an MBA.

Anyone have school or interview guides for Haas they would like to share? If so, PM me. I have GSB, Sloan, HBS, and more that I can share.

Yeah, that was so lame! Lol... and I haven't even been invited to interview, so that e-mail was even worse for me.

Fourth'd that. I bet all of the adcom was like, "Watch me lift the hopes and dreams of a thousand kids... then slam it into the ground with a reverberating splat."

I submitted an app for R1 and have not heard back as far as an interview goes. This morning a faculty member from my undergraduate institution informed me he just sent a letter on my behalf after hearing that Haas was my first choice. Although it was a kind gesture, I am nervous that the unsolicited letter will be viewed as spam and actually negatively impact my chances. Should I send a note to adcom explaining that I was unaware? Should I ignore it? I welcome your feedback!

If I were you, I wouldn't do anything because you risk making it a bigger deal than it already is.

Phew, submitted for R2 ! :)

Had to squeeze in TOEFL prep into the last couple of weeks which made the otherwise straightforward process tiresome. All the best to those waiting for R1 updates and to fellow R2 warriors.

Haha, same here. Just submitted for R2, and I also had to take another TOEFL.

Good luck to everyone!
