No, its not. Its a small college town with enough things to be done. Its outdoorsy. I always wonder why people get so worried about this, you will have LOTS to do, you need to study, recruit, there are student led clubs, cornell is one of thr best known universities in the world, so you will have a wide range of university led activities (conferences, etc)
As in all top b-schools, the single largest problem is how to allocate your time with so many things going on. Ithaca is just fine - unless you want to go to museums/broadway/professional sporting event.
Do you think someone who already lived there 5 yrs would go back for 2 more yrs if it indeed was a s*hole? Actions speak louder than words.
