Let full price=F and no of tickets sold at full price=n

We need know the value of n*F+(400-n)*(x/100)F

1) gives value of only x. INSUF
2) gives value of only F. INSUF

1+2 --> give value of only x and F we still need 'n' INSUF

We need to determine the revenue from the sale of 400 tickets. Some of the tickets were sold at the full price and the remainder of the tickets were sold at a reduced price. We can let f = the number tickets sold at full price and r = the number of tickets sold at the reduced price.

Statement One Alone:

x = 50

Without knowing how many tickets are sold at discount, we can’t determine the total revenue. Statement one alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statement Two Alone:

The full-price ticket was $20.

Knowing only the price for a full-price ticket is not enough information to determine the total revenue of all tickets sold. Statement two alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statements One and Two Together:

From statements one and two, we know that the discounted tickets are sold at $10 each. However, without knowing the number of discounted tickets, we cannot determine the total revenue.

Answer: E

Total tickets = 400

Total revenue = Number of tickets sold * Price per ticket

We have two different prices and two different no. of tickets sold for thoses prices.

From st 1 : x (discounted price) = 50

Insufficient as we don't know how many tickets were sold at this price and also what is the price of full ticket.

From st 2 : Full ticket price = $ 20

We don't know how tickets were sold at this price. So Insufficient

Combining both will not give us the revenue as we don't know how many tickets were of discounted price and how many were of full price.
