ISB 2013 Calling All Applicants

I finally got the email!! I have my interview on Jan 6th. I hope it goes well.

Guys! Any idea when is ISB planning to give out interview invites in the Delhi-NCR region, or if it has already started giving out invites?

it would be great if people who are already done with their interview could share their experience..

If i am not wrong, till now all the invites have been to people with GMAT scores > 730 ...
has anyone with a score of around 700 got a call?

And peoples who are done with the interviews might want sharing somethings

I reckon this is because they have the new Mohali campus- so I suppose increases in the number of admits and interview calls are to be expected... But yeah, I was surprised at the number of accomplished people I met there..

I believe the number of admits were the same last year also, so the number of invites should be the same
How did it go by the way?

Tbh, I have no idea to judge that since I have no relative base to compare my experience with- the general feel of the interview was alright though- there was a little pressure applied here and there, but nothing that cannot be dealt with...

Hello Everyone

I had my interview on 29th Dec.

The interview panel consisted of 3 gentlemen. 2 were alumni and 1 was an adcom member. My interview started off with a very specific question about why I had returned from US and that too from a very niche industry. Basically, the panel wanted to understand the logic behind my decisions/choices. It definitely felt like I was being cornered.

Then they wanted to understand my current job and the roles and responsibilities, achievements, etc.

Then the discussion went to why MBA, why now and why ISB.

Finally, they again cornered me on how I would achieve my MBA goals since my goals were very specific. They wanted to know if I had done any research on whether ISB grads had been placed in the companies I had mentioned about in my post MBA goals essay.
While the overall interview experience was free flowing and conversational, the panel did try to pick into some of the specifics that I had mentioned in my essays.

My 2 cents of advise would be - go through your essays in detail, research about the post MBA goals you mentioned in your essays and stick to them even if panel tries to persuade you to think they are not achievable.

I'm an R2 applicant and got my interview invite last Thursday (10 January).
My interview is scheduled on 19 January in Hyderabad campus.

Anyone else here who is appearing for an interview on the same day?

Hi folks,

Just done with my interview this afternoon ... contrary to what I've learned from various forums, I was called about 40 minutes before the interview and asked if I could attend early. I made it to the Hyderabad campus in another 25 minutes.
I was prepared to write the one-word essay when I reached, but they threw me off-track again by informing me that I'll be appearing for the interview first and the essay can be written later!!!
With almost no time to calm my nerves, an alumnus came to the waiting desk and called out my name and there I was, in front of the designated panel no. 3 for the interview.
I wasn't asked any typical questions - introduce yourself, why mba, why isb, why now or the likes.
Questions were mainly based on my profile and application, few on hobbies, etc. There was grilling on a few questions to some extent ... and when I was done, they asked me if I had any questions for them ... asked a couple of questions ... that's it!!!
Don't know really what to make out of the interview - only time will tell. All the best to those appearing for the interview in the next few days ... Au revoir !!!
