Give a bit more info if you can - area of specialization that you are looking for, and how much is the difference in pay for the two years?

To be more specific, I am looking for Strategic Consulting as the area of specialization...
About the difference in pay, I believe you are talking about the Tuition Fees.
So, here it is, If I go with Simon, I will have to pay 30000$ extra as compared to Illinois over a period of 2years...

Consulting (especially IT) is becoming more and more important at Simon in terms of number of students specializing in that area, but that I can't really compare across schools.

Hello All-

I would really appreciate any help or insight any of you might have about my current situation.

I've been accepted to Simon as well as Arizona State University's W.P. Carey MBA program. I plan on specializing in IT and as an international student, I'm particularly interested in the schools' employment stats and ability to help through the recruitment process.

Can any of you offer any advice regarding the two schools and their IT concentrations?

About the question, my knowledge of Simon is that they now have a dedicated area in their career services to IT consulting, and a professor that was hired a few years back from McKinsey, specialized in IT consulting (If you want the name of the professor, please PM me). They get Deloitte to go recruit from their students, and Accenture also hired this year from Simon (although I don't know if it was in the IT area), and of course leads to other companies as well.

They do have academic concentrations also specifically in IT, but I know that area less well than the IT consulting.

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Arizona State program, so it's not a direct comparison, but I hope this helps nonetheless.

I'm in!!

Received an email titled "Good news from the Simon School!" from Dana Gimple yesterday (Jan 14, one day before the supposed release day).

Applied one-year program, got 25% tuition scholarship (~20k USD).

FYR, International applicant (China), IT consulting background, middle level manager, W/E: 11 years now. GMAT: 730.

Have other offers and prospects, might not choose Simon.

I got the info about the notifications, the dates are all here https://www.simon.rochester.edu/programs/full-time-mba/admissions/application-deadlines/index.aspx#.

Simon releases decisions on a rolling basis leading up to the deadline stated in the link above. So, some people may hear prior to the date, but decisions will go out even up to and including the day promised. Students usually get an email as soon as their decision is published so that they can go in and view it.
