GMAT averages are published on the program websites , else you can check them out on https://www.princetonreview.com, US News b-school ranking, or Businessweek rankings.Take a diagnostic test and don't think too much about the scores, rather concentrate on "learning" .

Re: need advice on colleges to apply [#permalink]
I have been checking the websites of couple of B-Schools but i couldnt get a clear idea on whether i have a shot at those or not
like some school's statistics say
average gmat score=660
80th percentile gmat score is = 570-750
average work exp of 80th percentile=0-6yr
average work exp=2-4yr

i just want to know whether i can get into any decent B-school with 1yr-1yr 4months work exp, 670-700 gmat score

Actually these stats give a rough idea to begin with. You see that you fall in 80% range so you are good enough with numbers for the college. But then you need to spend time on colleges that you liked.

For example, if you look at FAQ on Ross' website, it answers your question:

Q: How much work experience do I need before I can apply?
A. We do not require a minimum number of years work experience prior to entering the MBA Program, but the significant majority of our admitted students have at least one to two years of work experience prior to entering. For students admitted for the fall of 2011, the average amount of post-undergraduate work experience was five years.

That said, we evaluate work experience not in terms of quantity, but in terms of quality: the impact the applicant has had on their organization and his or her natural leadership qualities. Those who wish to join us at an earlier stage of their career should be able to demonstrate what they will be able to contribute to the Ross experience, as well as have superb academic credentials and the maturity and self-confidence to handle the intensity of the program.

You just started this exercise. Spend some time. You'll get the hang of it soon.

"No expert can answer this question "

A simple piece of advice -just relax . GMAT is not a 100 m race, it's a marathon. First take a diagnostic test at https://www.manhattangmat.com/free-gmat.cfm, analyze your score in details. Then you can seek advice from here.Admission/GMAT advises aren't not " one size fits all ".

Let's have a chat after you take the diagnostic test. And because you are very curious, a GMAT of 670-700 will help you get into a decent school 8-)
Good Luck !
