I might not yet be an expert to answer our question, but I believe that since you have 1 and half month, decide on any one of the publications(powerscore or egmat, etc), for your verbal preparation and stick to it. Complete it thoroughly and do a lot of practice so that you can score well. The same to be done with quants too. Once you feel that you are reaching your set scores in the practice tests (Gmat prep, Manhattan prep), you can take the exam.

Ps: Its Anuj :)

Oops Anuj..

I am getting nervous whether 1.5 month is enough to raise score.
I am taking private quant coaching.
hopefully i am able to improve my verbal score by 10 points more.

I think you better talk to someone from eGmat. May be they can inspire and guide you.

Talk to e-GMAT. for a 1.5 month improvement you might want to look at their live online courses.
With a GMATClub discount, you get the GMATClub tests and grockit with that too.
That should be more than enough material to set the score you want
All the best :-)

Also make sure that you do not entirely rely on them and their materials for your improvement.
A verbal improvement only happens when you internalize your concepts and have a clear idea about what the GMAT tests.
My suggestion is, make the OG your bible and analyze and overanalyze every single question.
Google them, note them, suffocate yourself with them.
You will come out a man much stronger in his Verbal score :-)

Thanks anuj and souvik for an advice.
i have started working already.

btwn Souvik i read your advice previously somewhere on forum maybe in debrief,
where you mentioned about searching explanation for question online.
and these approach though bit time consuming but help tremendously.

for RC reading article from different article and paraphasing it.

I want to know with e-gmat course and OG12 and OG2

Hi Aristocrat,

Seeing that you have a month and a half in your hands, I believe you can improve your score to 650 - 700

To score a 660 you will need around Q47 and V34

If you are still scoring 37 in quant then there is a lot of scope for improvement. In the first week do intensive quant study. (not ignore verbal just be in touch) Find the topics you find difficult and study those properly. You may go through the topic specific forums on GMATClub and your study materials. Focusing on your shortcomings is vital here.

Verbal: Good to hear that you have improved in SC. OG12 or 13, e-GMAT, and GMAT Prep (You can also go for the Quant review and Verbal review if you are done with the official guide) would be sufficient for your prep. Doing GMATPrep in the last two weeks would help you immensely to bridge gaps. The good thing about GMATPrep is that nice explanations are available for these question on GMATClub and on the net and it accustoms you to the interface. Try to take 2-3 retakes of GMATPrep in your last week and again analyze the questions you got incorrect. In the last one month no other sources are required.

Thanks Vercules,
for prompt reply.
I have one doubt :
is MGMAT CAT verbal easier compare to GMAT prep verbal because above score is from MGMAT CAT score.
Do i need to give gmatprep to check out my current level of score in individual section or should i give gmat prep exam after 2 weeks and
after working on my weak areas.?i am saving gmat prep for later use..

Regards,
Aristocrat.

Hi Aristocrat,

I would not say that MGMAT tests are easier, they are different from typical GMAT style questions, but good for practice. No test is as accurate as GMATPrep and there no good substitute for official questions (especially official explanations). Do the GMATPrep in the last two weeks but do not save the it for the very last moment as you would not get enough time to touch each question in the question pool and analyze the solutions. Each of the two tests contains a good number of valuable questions.

Take one test today or tomorrow to have a better idea of your score and find your weaknesses. It is very important to study every question thoroughly. After two weeks retake the tests, just mark the questions you saw previously. You will see tougher question which you did not face in the first attempt.

Hi Aristocrat,

Good to hear that, geometry and p & c have a lower number of questions in the test. I got only p & c and around 3 geometry in my actual GMAT.

If you are finding P&C difficult, you can just go through the basics and move ahead with other topics. Pay special attention to Number Theory and Arithmetic as they have the most no. of questions and their DS questions could quite confusing at times. To solidify your basic concepts in all the topic try to do the easy or the sub 600 levels questions. And remember, getting an easy question incorrect would lower the score more as compared to getting a tougher one incorrect. Check this post - GMAT Prep Software Analysis and What If Scenarios

Hey aishwarya276981, first off this is not the right place to ask your question.
You should post the question in the Ask GMAT Experts forum to get a perspective of various experts

Now coming back to your question, A score of V27 shows that you lack a clarity of concepts.
Can you help me with the following information?

1. How long did you prepare for the GMAT
2. What all materials did you use
3. Did you appear for full length mock CATs
4. Did you solve all the official questions from OG and Verbal Review.
Please bear in mind that the best way to score well on the test is to be thorough with the official questions and the concepts tested in them.

In your second round of preparation, you can try the following study plans.

study-plan-for-verbal-gmat-98342.html
how-to-go-to-v40-from-v30-142366.html

Also, in order to hit 700 - 720, i would suggest that you focus on your Quants too. You still can improve your Quants to 49 -50 and that can give your score a bug boost.
