Re: Judge 2013 (Cambridge) - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Did anyone get an admit after the R2 interview on 21st January? I was at Cambridge, not sure if there were others from the forum. Admits started going out on 23rd and I am happy to announce that I have been admitted to Cambridge. There were 26 interviewees in all, so I reckon more should have gone out (esp. given that there is a high conversion rate between On-campus interviews and admit offers)

Congratulations! I was keeping an eye out to see who might have been admitted as well. If it's anything like R1, then no one will mention anything about being admitted on the Facebook group for weeks presumably because they don't want to offend those who were denied (it doesn't look like they delete rejected candidates). So, from the students interviewed in R1 that are on the FB group, I have no idea how many were admitted, much less how many accepted. This is a little frustrating but I guess we'll have to wait until orientation to know for sure. Again, congrats and good luck with your other schools.

Hi I just got admitted to Cambridge MBA in R2. Anyone else has the good news to share? Meanwhile, I found the period between the admission and deposit is extremely short...

For those who are planning to apply to the Cambridge MBA program and concerned about how the new UK visa regulations have impacted placements, here's something that might raise your spirits.

Cambridge MBA achieved a 97% placement for the previous batch. Over 50% of Cambridge MBA graduates switched careers (either industry, role or geography) and 29% managed to change all three

Conrad Chua (Admissions Director) shares more on this --> Cambridge MBA post.

Congrats! If you need to wait for another school's outcome before you make your decision, Cambridge will typically give you a short deadline extension.

Hey guys. Judge was one of the programmes that jumped the most in the latest FT rankings.

Really exciting times to be at Cambridge. :)

And here's Conrad Chua's take on the ranking:
https://www.thecambridgembaadmissions.com/2013/01/28/why-you-should-apply-to-the-cambridge-mba-despite-us-improving-10-places-in-the-ft-mba-ranking/

In short, this rise in Cambridge's FT ranking puzzles him just as much as the school not being ranked at all (due to technical reasons) in the most recent BW ranking. Once again highlighting the randomness of this whole ranking business.

Regardless it's nice to see Cambridge among only 3 one-year programs in the worldwide FT Top 20 list.

LB83 - It sounds like you should hear from them very shortly.

Any ranking should be taken with a huge pinch of salt and pepper.

I see Warwick jumped 10 steps

I can see St Gallen at 82

I see both IIM-A and ISB down by 10+ steps

I see NUS down by 9 steps

I can still find CASS there

I can see Spanish schools are holding their forts

I can see most of the Asian and Australian schools slipped

After seeing all these interesting elements I know how much importance I need to give to all these rankings.

And this goes for all the rankings!!

Why do you see this as dubious?

Lets not split hairs eh - you ain't taking the gmat now...

You used the ranking of the Spanish schools as evidence of the unworthiness of the ranking. I was interested to know why.

p.s. you can imply something is "dubious" without actually using the word...

My dear friend, keep the negative thinking out, have a more balanced view. Have you noticed Warwick there, have you noticed St Gallen there?

I have not said anything positive or negative. I just said you can not blindly trust the rankings. What you take positively or what you take negatively is entirely on YOU.
