Re: Georgetown MBA Evening Program (2013) [#permalink]
Good afternoon all,

I applied for round 2 of the part-time program. I received the "application complete" e-mail on May 22, 2013. It stated that I could expect a decision on May 31, 2013.

I noticed in the frequently asked questions section of the part-time program website the following which may soothe some anxiety about the interviews:

"Is an interview required?
Interviews are by invitation of the Admissions Committee only. Following the submission of a complete application, applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview if the Admissions Committee determines one is necessary."
msb.georgetown.edu/mbaep/admissions/frequently-asked-questions accessed May 27 2013.

I interpret that to mean that if the admissions committee is uncertain about your application you will be invited to allay their concerns. If you have a great application and a high probability of enhancing the cultural fabric of the McDonough community, you will be accepted without an interview.

I would do well to have the opportunity to show that I am more than what my low test scores indicate but it appears for me that time is running short. I hope that this reply to the post is helpful and wish everyone good luck.

If I am accepted I hope to see you all in class with me. If not, on June First I will start the application process over. As far as I can tell, McDonough is the only place for me.

I also was waitlisted, any information about the chances of still being accepted would be great!

Congratulations to those who were accepted and also to those on the wait list.

I will have to re-apply for next year.

I would also like to apologize for misleading anyone about the interview, despite the language on the frequently asked questions link, the application instructions state the following:

Interviews are required for admission to the Georgetown MBA Evening Program. The evaluative interview
helps the Admissions Committee learn about you as an individual and assess your candidacy according to various metrics. The interview also provides you with an additional opportunity to share supplemental information
to support your candidacy. Interviews are offered by invitation only.

For any one that may apply for next year, make sure you attach unofficial copies of test scores to the application as official copies are not always delivered in a timely fashion.

Again congratulations to those who were accepted and also to those on the wait list.
