Duke (Fuqua) 2013 - Calling All Applicants

Not sure whether we should still hope to see a schol letter in the package if we haven't been contacted yet by the adcom abot the scholarship.

I received my admit package and confirmed what I thought - no scholarship. Does Fuqua consider scholarships later in the season for R1 matriculants if there are leftovers, or am I out of luck if I didn't receive one already?

Any idea when we will be contacted for the background checks? Did the EA guys already go through it?

ReVera sent me a form that I had to sign to authorize and initiate the process. This was after I submitted my deposit (I think).

Hmmm, I already paid my deposit for cornell, and they also use ReVera, I'm expecting them to kick off my check anytime. I wonder if I end up off the waitlist, and decide to go to fuqua, I'd have to go through the process a second time... That could get annoying for the parties involved. ahhwell, that would be a nice problem to have...

I think programs can choose from the variety of different checks that ReVera provides. Fuqua's was the $75 dollar one. I know that my recommenders and HR of companies were contacted. Not too sure about what else.

hmm my R1 deposit was cashed 2 weeks ago and I haven't been contacted yet. How long did the entire verification process take for you?

Minor correction: Fuqua sent me the forms so that I could initiate the process with ReVera.

Here is my timeline:

My deposit cleared on 11/15/2012
Fuqua sent me the forms to authorize the background check on 11/19/2012
I sent the forms back on 11/25/2012
ReVera completed their check by 11/27/2012
Office of Admissions confirmed that my background check was completed on 11/30/2012

I was surprised how fast everything took on their end. However, there are very few total admits across all programs that need to be processed in the middle of November. As the number of applicants and acceptances swell in Round 1 and Round 2, I would imagine that the turnaround time for the checks lengthens also.

Wow - I am an EA admit and I still haven't received my verification completion confirmation yet. I did ask ReVera that they hold off contacting my current employer until July, but I figured I'd at least receive an "all clear" with the exception of my current employer by now. I guess not...

do we know if this is a steady roll out this week or will they all be sent out at once on the 7th?
