Not sure about McCombs’ venture fellow program. Fuqua also has a Venture Fellow program with similar structure. From my experience at Fuqua, being a venture fellow really depends on the need at the VC partner firm and your background. The admission criteria are completely disconnected with b-school admission criteria. In another word, you can be a complete rockstar in b-school AdCom’s eyes, but if your background/pitch does not match the current need (fund raising, research/due diligence on specific industry, etc.) at a VC firm, you will not get matched.

The Venture Fellows at Fuqua were very passionate about entrepreneurship, and have extensive background in a particular industry or starting/running a company.

Any of you R2 guys hear yet?

I applied R3 and will be interviewing next week. I'm just curious how long post-interview it takes UT to make a decision. I'm trying to predict the timeline of when I'll hear back. But it sounds like they string you along almost right up to the deadline.

I don't think anyone has been accepted from rd 2 yet. Round 1 they started making calls 8 days before the deadline. So yeah you will most likely have to wait until pretty close to the actual decision deadline.

I'm sorry to hear it didn't go as well as hoped. You couldn't interview w/ an alumnus in your area?

I'm sorry to hear it didn't go as well as hoped. You couldn't interview w/ an alumnus in your area?

I would always go under the assumption that it is business professional, unless otherwise noted.

I interviewed with the adcom and it was business professional.

No movement in acceptances for rd 2 so far?

Refreshing probably won't help you either way until late Thur. night. Even though they called me 8 days ahead of time, the McCombs landing page didn't update until late that Thur. Also, the GIAC site didn't update until weeks after the decision deadline.

Just received e-mail from adcom congratulating me on acceptance- official acceptances won't be sent out until Friday though. No idea if this is being sent to everyone or what. It appears I was part of an e-mail list as it was addressed to "undisclosed recipients" and it never mentions my name.
