I screwed up my GMAT with a 610 yesterday. I was confident through out the test and was hoping to touch 700. but got a big shock to see a 610 that too with Q 49 and verbal 25!!
I am still in that shock .. cant beleive that I got a 25 in verbal... Through out my mocks I never got a 25 in V... So i am not in my senses to think how it happened and what shoulfd be my next step...Shall I apply to any School? Shall I retake the exam?
My
MGMAT scores were 580,590, 650,670 with Q45 in all and verbal > 30
My brief profile: Indian FEmale with 8+ years of Scientific research experience. and have a GPA of 3.9 . University topper (GM).
Will truly appreciate your help....
Hi tiara,
Congrats on 49 in quant is no small achievement. I am yet to hit that mark
I am no expert but may be I could help.
I screwed by ma gmat and quant was the culprit; got less in quant on gmat than on my mocks. I have seen the drop in scores in a couple of candidates.
It took a week for me to get out of the shock. So, I can understand what you are going through.
Your highest
MGMAT scrore is 670. So, this score is within you and 610 is not your real level and a 670+ is achievable.
I understand that verbal ditched you and this is no surprise for me since SCs which I got on the real deal were very very strange but I could somehow manage them as I have focussed the most on SCs in my gmat preparation.
What were your gmat prep mock scores ? pls mention with scaled scores( verbal and quant).
I would suggest you to go through your
error log( if you haven't maintained one, start maintaining one from now onwards), know your weak and strong areas after going through the
error log.
Which area in Verbal troubles you the most?
As far as verbal is concerned, you gotto analyse every incorrect answer choice and every correct answer choice. Key to doing good in verbal is digging deep and asking 'why' for every new thing.
Hope this helps. If it does, kindly press kudos ( on the left , below my handle (Sachin9))
