Just got waitlisted. I was interviewed in January 25th and thought it went well. I'm an international applicant, my application manager is Jenna Abbott.

here's a part of the letter i got:

"Thank you for submitting an application to the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. We recently completed a comprehensive review of your application and added you to our waiting list. We recognize your potential and encourage you to take an active role in strengthening your candidacy. "

What do you think are my odds because i was already interviewed??

Do you happen to be from India?

There is a majority of Indians in the WL pool. I expect some significant movement on WL around R3. Since I don't see many admits from India, the fate of WLs will not depend on yield of Indian students but rather on quality of Indian pool in R3. Ofcos all this is entirely my personal opinion.

Hi guys. I was waitlisted in early February (I applied R1) and just withdrew my application. Hope that takes the competition out of the pool. Good luck everyone

Congrats thrones (and good news for the Johnson WL group). Have you decided on where you will be headed this fall?

I'll be at Yale this fall (deposit is already in). There is the whole wait-listed at other schools thing... but at the moment not weighing those options unless some progress is made on that end.

Heard on the decision day.
And damn, rightly so. I was probably among the first people to be interviewed in R2. Had apparently competitive stats. And the interviewer concluded the interview complimenting me on my X,Y,Z skills. Decision was shock to me. The worst part - I have no clue to even speculate the weak part.

ISB asks for 2nd March. Factoring the time to transfer money, today might me the last day. I'm yet undecided.
Tough times, mate.

Aah! Thats bad man.. to top it all they don't give feedbacks either. I can feel the pain as I was in similar situation in R1, but atleast you have Darden. I would put Darden above Johnson (though slightly & depends on your career plans). So its a choice between ISB/Darden for now. All the best...

I think it comes down, primarily, to your post-MBA goals. If you want to work in the US, then Darden is the place to go. If you see yourself in India post-MBA, ISB will offer you all the resources you would need.

Did any of the wait listed candidates w/o an interview got an interview invite or anything? I was wondering if the adcom made any movement on the wait list. It's super quite in here. I cannot wait that long without chatting. :)

"Southern Methodist’s Cox School of Business admitted three of its 34 wait-listed applicants last fall, Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management offered admission to 29 of the 94 on its list, and Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management let in 40 of 470 wait-listed applicants. Harvard Business School declined to share the total number of applicants who were on the original list, but reported that it ultimately offered admission to 84 of the wait-listed. Similarly, Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business offered that it admitted 16 percent of those on its list."

Ahead of 470 WLs, there would be admits > the class size to factor in the yield ! Now, that's crazy.
