I have my interview next week.

Any recommendations on a good way to spend the day? I don't really have much interest in the World of Coke, Aquarium etc and would rather spend my time getting a real feel for the quality of life down there. Good parks? Areas with a high density of cafes/bars/shopping etc?

Also if anyone else is interviewing Monday and wants to meet up, PM me.

Centennial Park is a big park in downtown Atlanta if you're at all interested about inner city green space. Buckhead will give you a good idea of what kind of shopping you can do in town and if you get hungry there's a restaurant in Lenox Square (mall in Buckhead) which has 1/2 price steaks if you're seated before 18:15. If you want something a bit less touristy than World of Coke or the CNN tour, the Jimmy Carter Library is pretty cool and you can see his Nobel Peace Prize up close.

I'm still waiting for my invitation... I got very quick (~1 week) invites at some of Goizueta's peer schools but I'm starting to worry that if I don't get invited next week I can pretty much forget about Emory. :( I'm an aviation guy, Atlanta would be great for me.

Anybody from India received an interview invite? With the final decision date (March 15) approaching fast is it safe to assume that if one hasn't received an invite yet it is in all likelihood a ding...

Interview went well today. As mentioned, very conversational. No curveball questions except maybe "What do you typically search for when you Google". I just mentioned my interests. We talked a little about traveling and music and the recent Poets and Quants article on Goizueta. Lasted 40 minutes.

She also mentioned that they might start notifications earlier than the 15th. For what its worth...

We did see an interview invite come in on March 1. But I think if we don't get invites in the next two days, we should be staring at a certain ding!

Hey @DMNY31,

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier or I would have offered to meet up for a coffee/drink. I would also recommend checking out the Virginia Highlands neighborhood. This is a great example of how Atlanta actually is a very walkable city and has some great pockets of urban space that do a good job of combining parks, low-density commercial and residential, shopping and "3rd Place" options in one area. Also, I would check out the High Museum if you have time - some great exhibits there right now.

Please let me know if you have any specific questions about life in Atlanta. I hope the interview went well and you weren't turned off by the emptiness of campus - we're on Spring Break right now!

Best,
Jon

Hey, My interview seemed not good. I had troubles with Mycrosoft lync hence I did have a phone interview instead :( it was quite conventional and no tricks at all. Why MBA? Why emory? Position in a team etc. I wrote a thank you letter 5 hours later but did not receive a feedback. It is a negative signal, right? I would feel so bad if being digged since Emory is my top choice :(

I wouldn't read too much into it. I think the thank you letter was probably a bit overkill (might come across as desperate without the right context) but they've got a lot of stuff to do at this time of year. The point is, you got an interview meaning they have at least some level of interest in you.

Looks like only 1 indian in this forum received an invite so far. Given the decisions come out on Mar 15, the chances are looking bleak now

Just finished with my interview. Quite short, about 35 minutes. Neutral feelings about how it went. Trying desperately to stop the mental playback.
These were the questions I got asked:

Walk me through your resume, with emphasis on choice of degree and career transitions
Why MBA now?
Why Goizueta?
What companies are you targeting for your internship?
What in your opinion is important for teams to function at their best?
Describe a time when you effected change in your organization
Describe a time when you received constructive feedback from your superiors.
Are you open to working internationally?
If you could go back and change something about your career, would you?
She then asked me if I wanted to add anything. I touched upon my potential contributions to the school.
