Kellogg (Northwestern) 2013 - Calling All Applicants

My email is open at work all day anyway; looks like I will just be freaking out every time I get a piece of spam in the ol inbox haha.

I remember the motto we created for R1 was "No news is good news!". I didn't get an email and then got the call the next day.

But I honestly think that was a system error of some sort that won't be repeated in R2. It doesn't really make sense to send the email and then call admitted students later.

Congratulations to everyone who matriculated already (or will before tomorrow's deadline). I'm sad to not be joining you, but you're going to have a blast (especially with those rockin' KWEST trips)--best of luck at the big K!

have people already started getting their decisions for round 2?
I see someone has updated status to wait listed for round 2.

They will only be out on the 21st, no way anyone got it already.

Didn't they release R1 a couple days earlier than stated?

Just going back to that day on the message board it doesn't look like anything came out early. Although it looks like the ding email went out early - perhaps 1am instead of 1pm. Just have to wait it out I guess. All my other dings will be meaningless if this pans out haha.

Although I just checked my status for the hell of it and the status check page does say:

"When a decision has been determined, the Office of Admissions will send you an email notifying you to check your status for your decision. Application decisions may be released on or before the decision deadline, but the majority of decisions will be released during the last few weeks of the round."

What happened was this (kind of):

1. Email goes out saying "Check your status online" the night before, but only some applicants received this email.
2. Applicants check online status, nothing is there.
3. Eventually, applicants start getting admitted calls the next day, but no one who got the email got the call.
4. The group who gets the email finally notices that their status is up and is either a Ding or a Waitlist.

Is it game over for candidates who got a waiver? My gf hasnt got an invite yet. Any other indians got an interview invite after the waiver?

Interesting, sounds like someone might have forgot to indicate am/pm when scheduling the ding email. Either way though, I'm not expecting word until the 21st. And once we've all waited this long throughout this process, what's another 2 weeks right? My blood pressure is already permanently raised, I'm sure.

Upsetting that the next DAK falls on the same weekend as Blue Devil Weekend. I would have liked to experience both (provided the opportunity), since I loved Duke when I visited for Women's Weekend but feel that I could have been equally as smitten by Kellogg if I had a similar visit.

I think so. Though I hope its not.

I'd say till the date isn't here (Mar 21st), keep your fingers crossed. I know of many people last year who got interviews during the last 4-5 days before the results day. However, as the date draws near, keep striking off 3% of a shot per day. 2/3rds I'd say its a no-go, as of now.

That must be for Round 2 or later. I was waitlisted in Round 1 and I got the notification email at about 6pm EST.

Last year it seems they started calling folks a week early. This year it seems they will release decisions all on one day. (based off what happened R1.)

I guess this new approach is better. A week of waiting for a phone call (or not) sounds miserable. But I am so ready to be done with this. I am definitely procrastinating by reading this forum wayyyyy too much. Ward2012, I have read your post 100 times now.
