So just wanted to share a bit about my interview. I interviewed in New York, at the offices of my interviewer. He was incredibly smart, friendly and outgoing, and really seemed interested in getting to know me and to help me understand more about Columbia. At one point we ended up talking about the Big Bang Theory and reality TV, which was fun. He was nice enough not to take notes during that part though
He did have a printout of the standard questions that Columbia asks and was taking notes on the back of it. The ones that he asked specifically that were not just covered in our general conversation about my goals and background were:
-Tell me about a time that you faced adversity (he clarified that this used to be "tell me about a time you faced an ethical question")
-Is Columbia your first choice? Where else did you apply?
-What will you do if you don't get accepted into business school
Overall, I had a great time talking to him about what I wanted to do, my career goals, and his experiences at Columbia. He was very enthusiastic about the school, and overall was a really wonderful ambassador for the program.
Plus he submitted my feedback the same afternoon as I interviewed. I'm glad that I managed to get my thank-you email in before he got his feedback in.
