After a lot of deliberation about Haas vs. Tuck last week my decision is now final and I'm Hanover-bound!

So, I believe yesterday was the April round deadline, am I right? Guess nobody around here even bothered to give it a shot after the acceptance rate of the January round. Wtf happened to Tuck this year? Did everybody else discovered how awesome it is and decided to apply? I read on Poets&Quants that the acceptance rate went up last year compared to the previous year. My guess is that it's going to drop right back down again this year, though...

Howdy folks, long time lurker. I am currently on the WL but received an offer from a firm at a major raise (40%+). This is a major change to my application, and I'm considering whether I should tell Adcom about this offer as a means to reaffirm my dedication to Tuck. I think schools definitely consider 'marketability' and this would strengthen my chances with Tuck. Would this be a mis-step?

You should definitely point this out to them but the tone of your email should be more towards how this reaffirms you as a solid candidate (Recognized as work) versus coming across as bragging and/or give them discomfort that you probably wont join now given the raise.

Believe it or not I am based in Hanover (working for a small PE fund here). It is a beautiful day here!

Well, in that case I guess it wasn't very polite of them to call you. The least they could do is walk over to your office and give you a hug!

What round did you apply?

I applied EA last year, was WL, let go in August, reapplied this year in Jan.
