Hey guys,

Have you considered HEC Paris as an alternative? I mean if you have been accepted already then of course INSEAD is an amazing option but I think HEC Paris offers an interesting proposition and I would definitely recommend it as a European option if INSEAD or LBS seem hard to crack. Fees are 12K less (48000€) and a scholarship of up to 24K, for good candidates that would have realistic hopes of admission to INSEAD, would not be hard to get, lowering the total cost of fees down to 24K! HEC is considered to be the best business school ever in France (due to its Masters program and not the MBA in particular but the brand is strong nonetheless throughout Europe as can also be seen in FT European business school rankings). Furthermore, the HEC MBA has been revamped in 2012 with the help of Bain & Company and also is housed in a brand new building and should be going up in the rankings in the next few years as it is actively aiming to stand in the top 3 MBA programs in Europe and top 10 in the world. Finally, there are some interesting double degree options, for example you can do 10 months at HEC (for reduced 36K tuition) and 9 months at MIT Sloan and get two degrees (an MBA from HEC and an MSMS from MIT). So, if you have not looked into it seriously, I suggest you do. I am a big INSEAD fan but I think HEC should at least be your #1 backup choice.

Good luck with your results and studies!

P.S. their admissions process is the fastest there is (many admission deadlines throughout the year, couple of weeks for preselection decision and couple of weeks for final decision after the interviews), about 5-6 weeks all together I think.

Had both my interviews yesterday. I wish I paid more attention to posts regarding "good cop/bad cop" earlier :) I had a very nice and laid back interview with a guy whom I know to be very tough in business and I expected similar experience with the second interviewer (I heard he is a nice person in his workplace). However, I was slightly shocked by the flow of the second interview and the drill-down style :)

Hello, I guess we won't hear the final decision before the last week of May, which is really far away from now.... hard to wait...

You really think they will make us wait that long? I mean we werent supposed to hear interview decisions until the 19th of April which is tomorrow, but most people posting have already completed both (I am doing my second one tomorrow). I really hope there isnt a 6 week wait ahead of me. What was the timeline like for Round 3's last year? I know I can go back and look, just wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head?

I finished my interview last week very classic Good cop/ Bad cop 3 why's. And I got a "quick clarification" email yesterday from AN about my current situation. I think there was some discrepancies between my application and the thing I said to the interviewer, that needed some clarification. I will try to get in touch with AN to see if my answers was good enough. Finger crossed! but that also shows that the adCom is quite active.

I find it strange that my experience was not good cop/bad cop as others report. They were very balanced interviews.

Hey fellow admits, I would like to ask how many of you (especially Americans) have chosen Insead over a school in the US? Am just curious....

To all my fellow interviewees that meet at a cafe for lunch or drinks....did you wear a suit and tie for the interview?

Thanks

I wore a suit, but no tie. Of course when not wearing a tie I rock a neatly folded pocket square 8-)
