From what I researched so far - EMBA seems to have predominantly senior management profiles. With international and business background. That is a hit for me. So - I really have to push myself too hard...any tips!!!!

Focus on impact and achievement. quantify when possible. Relates examples that show your leadership and managerial skill.

Thanks again Linda. Queen's optional internship is more focused towards entrepreneurs and not any other field. However, during the course, they have associations with major fields like Consulting Association (one of it) to gain experience. I am still inclined towards Ivey for their case based method and ofcourse alumni networking.

Linda, will you be able to share some insights of best dressing my Resume.....Will you like to evaluate my current profile a bit more in detail, do let me know, I will then like to share my current Resume with you.

cheers

In some respects it's a good fit and in some ways, I'm not so sure.
Pros
  • It is for experienced managers, and you seem to have the right amount of experience.
  • You anticipate earning a competitive GMAT.
  • It is a top program
  • You wanted full-time; it is full-time, but only one year.

Cons

  • The Sloan Fellows programs are not really designed to facilitate a major career change. It is either for people looking to move up the corporate ladder or run their own businesses more effectively.
  • While I know you have worked in the hospitality industry, I don't have a clear idea of how much managerial responsibility you have shouldered there. For Stanford Sloan, it has to be real and significant. Based on your concerns about lack of seniority in earlier posts, I think that could be an issue here too

Re: Age 33 12 years WE why is that a TABOO for my application? [#permalink]
Hey. I'm 31 years old, 12 years F/T work experience, 11 of those years in management as I only completed the first year of my undergrad. I was in the same boat as you when I looked into MBA/EMBA options. I didn't want to sit in a classroom where my classmates may only have 3 years experience, yet I didn't feel I had enough experience for an EMBA, mainly because I felt I would be the youngest in that class. So I wrote my GMAT (690) and I applied to 3 schools - 2 F/T MBA and 1 EMBA - and fortunately, I got into all 3 :) So now I have a tough decision to make, but I'm definitely leaning toward the EMBA. From your past posts, I feel that you're very much against this option, and I'm just wondering why that is?

Anyway, you won't know anything until you take the first step: Prepare for and write the GMAT. Then you'll know which schools you're a potential candidate for.

Good luck!
