Except your GMAT score, nothings looks horribly wrong. So why not when you have a 700+ GMAT?

I second WBC. You need a better GMAT and all else seems OK from a distance. There is a really good webpage at Aringo where you can gauge better your chances at different schools.

Btw, I haven't understood, but are you applying for a 2013 start?

Unless you are a Singapore citizen or at the least a PR, I would suggest that you give a second look at the job prospects for foreigners in Singapore..

INSEAD is tough with your profile - unless you exhibit great leadership experiences with your work and multi-lingual proficiency (very important).

SP Jain is a good bet (Again, not sure about NUS/NTU as competition from Indian students are pretty high and you need to differentiate yourself)

Hi,

I am specifically looking to do an MBA from Singapore as i assume that the job prospects will be much better in Singapore post MBA

I recently had a look at SP Jain and SMU

Could any1 tell me the appeal of these two colleges and whether doing an MBA from these two colleges is a sensible thing

Below are my details:

-I have an experience in Finance of almost 4 years
-GMAT score of 600. How ever plan to take the GMAT again very soon
-Bachelor of commerce(honors) degree with excellent GPA
-Not really anything great to show under the extra curricular activities apart from a few table tennis honors
-Involved in community service in school and in college
-Not much international exposure professionally.

Would be great if someone could have advice whether this is a good enough profile to make it to top notch business schools provided i get a 700 on the GMAT this time around.

I am going to apply to NTU and NUS for the 2012-14 batch, are my chances decent enough to get through?

Guysss!!!need helpppppp

Regards,
Mohit Garg

I am sailing in exactly the same boat , 4 + years of Exp in IT, Average Acads , decent extra curricular nothing much to show in leadership
Giving GMAT on March 18, target score is 670+, as I feel I am under prepared and do not have enough time with New Job [:(] Just want to give a shot to NUS/NTU before march 31 deadline. I know its very bad approach to have just one week for essays Refree Report, etc etc but I am really short of time so wanted to take a chance.

SP Jain - I have cleared SPJAT and then discarded SPJAT purely on the basis of no diversification at all . As its just an Indian B- school set up in Singapore with sky high Fees and they are just filling up the numbers this is what I feel from whatever research I have done.

NUS\NTU\SMU -- All three good colleges but as some one pointed out bout Non - singaporean , offlately I some how feel its true but I would like it to be proven wrong somehow.Because I also Dream of working in singapore afterall

INSEAD -- No second thoughts , just go for it if you think You can

Hi,

My profile is similar too

Close to 6 years of work ex. all in finance and audit with Ernst & Young and Standard & Poor's
Chartered Accountancy degree
CFA 2 levels
Visiting faculty for CFA batches at Pristine
Some ECA at company level

And the GMAT score is 600

Can somebody suggest whether I should apply to SMU for 2014 January batch or not.

Thanks

Hi Mohit,

You must aim for 670+ GMAT, if you plan to apply in NUS, Nanyang & other colleges in Singapore. You may target AIM- Manila as well. Subsequently, you need to work hard on application essays and demonstrate leadership qualities, professional achievements and other aptitudes during final interviews. These are the deciding elements for admission in b-school.

Feel free to post any other queries you might have. You may PM your details for assistance in school selection and profile evaluation.

Regards
Erina

I would suggest you to reconsider doing MBA from Singapore. Not a great job market over here and govt is tightening the regulations. Its getting difficult for foreigner to get management jobs.

Hi,

How good are my chances for NUS on my profile:

3 years of consulting experience (ZS Associates)
IIT graduate (Dual degree)
GMAT 680
Overseas experience for about 6 months in a diverse environment.

Please let me know should I apply on this or give GMAT again?

What about S P Jain School of Global Management? I found it has a great placement report over the world.

Placements are not the only feature that makes the B-School. B-school teaches you the real-world skills, business concepts, access the industrial visit to understand. And S P Jain Global has gone so far that it has made students to learn the cultural concepts with it's tri-city model. (Chinese, Middle East & Western cultures)...

I feel exposure to different cultures and having experience in working with the local market will increase your job prospects. So, I think SP Jain is not bad. Go through their official website for more details. :)

I think you should not restrict yourself to only studying in a Singapore college. Look for other options as well. Getting more exposure isn’t a bad thing. SP Jain is a decent option. D. Get your GMAT score in place and you won’t have problems in getting through SP Jain, I think. Its placement reports are impressive.

I f you are really looking forward to an MBA abroad, SMU is a decent bet. It’s faculty members collaborate with leading international researchers from USA, Europe, China and India. On the other hand SP Jain provides this tri-city course structure where you study in 3 different countries: Dubai, Singapore and Sydney. So, you have a good spread to choose from.
:-D :) :)

Agreed to you genelia!

As you mentioned about the faculties collaboration with SMU, S P Jain does collaborate with international faculties, and exchanges program with leading business schools that really helps students apart from this tri-city study module. :-D

But yes, both the b-schools are decent bet to explore.

More exposure, you mean to S P Jain's tri-city course module?
