Re: A church collected exactly $303 from its members during a [#permalink]
Greatest number is when every contributes the least amount. For this to happen, someone has to contribute 3 dollars, leaving 300 to be split among 150 members. So total # = 151 members.

Another C. To maximize, set the lowest possible limit at $2. 2*150=300 with one member donating $3.

For greatest no of people to come, most people should have given only 2. No of people who gave 2 is 302/2 = 151. One person would have given $3.
So ans = 151

A church collected exactly $303 from its members during a service. If each member contributed at least $2, what is the greatest number of members that could have attended this perticular service.

a)140
b)150
c)151
d)152
e)153

looking to multiply 2 * a number to equal 303. 303 is not divisible so we go down 1 because we want the minimum contribution per person of 2 dollars. someone will end up doanting 3 dollars.

C.
