Re: For the last five years the Dutch economy has grown faster [#permalink]
E for me.

A. Britain, France, or Germany, with the unemployment rate having remained
Incorrect comparison
B. have those of Britain, France, or Germany, and the unemployment rate remaining
has ..have
C. have Britain, France, and Germany, and the unemployment rate has remained
Incorrect comparison
D. the economy of Britain, France, and Germany, with the unemployment rate that has remained
Had it been economies or Britain France or Germany, i would be happier
E. the economies of Britain, France, and Germany, and the unemployment rate has remained
CORRECT

It's Between D and E. I will go with D.

In "E" - it appears the Dutch economy is being compared with multiple economies of each of the listed countries - does not seem right to me

In D, I must admit, the extra "that" in "....with the unemployment rate that has remained..." seems suspicious

Britan, France, and Germany represent multiple countries, so economies should be the correct comparison.

Will go with gang, Its E.

I think in D, unemployment rate that has

sounds passive to me. Can any one explain.

D is wrong because the dutch economy is being compared to france and germany.

my vote also for E

in D, we need a plural noun "economies" and E does that just fine.

E seems best

However it changes the original meaning

Matt, good question :)
Kannad is not mutually intelligible with Hindi, Urdu or Punjabi. Kannad is totally different from these languages! By large, there is similarity (debatable ;)) among south Indian languages. Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam are other south Indian languages.
I appreciate your curiosity :-D, actually there are around 50 languages spoken in India & it's really interesting to know more than one language.
