Re: Calling all Haas (2018 intake) applicants: Class of 2020 [#permalink]
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. I just got an email from Haas regarding some "application bootcamp", given I applied on R1 it almost feels like a bad joke. Anyone else got that email?

Just an FYI.. When I went to my interview, I also attended the admissions info session. During their presentation they claimed that applications are reviewed based on where you were geographically educated (i.e. which country your college was located in).

Thats great information.

Well this is a school that sent an email out to everyone saying "Congratulations..." so I wouldn't put it past their email crew to be oblivious to how that might appear (i.e. probably means nothing).

For anyone losing hope, I just wanted to say that I submitted my app on September 16th and got an invite on Nov 17th so there is still time. Regrettably, I am having to do the interview over video as work is too busy and it doesnt look like there were any spots around Toronto. If anyone that has gone through the interview process and can provide any info, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey. Apologies for my gender presumption. Yeah I haven’t seen Indian Haas invites yet. Haas is extremely diverse though. The current class has three Indians. Mind blowing.

Also, congrats on the GSB invite. Which other schools are you looking at?

I’m sure there are more than 3 Indians with Haas’s current class. I visited in the summer and notice at least 4 Indians in the class (~50)

I'm sure you will with your stats. There's plenty of time and I think you got the ready for review email after me, right?

Got it on 17/10. I don't know man. Haas was the ONLY school that interviewed me last year with much weaker stats. I was really hopeful for this year. Of all the schools I researched they were the most friendly and warm.

Hi,
An Indian here. I got my ready to review mail on 17/10 as well. Hang on there. Lets keep our hopes high.

*Urgent interview query*
Hi guys!
I received an interview with Haas and opted for the online video platform format.
The interview confirmation email specified the time but no specification of the timezone
Anyone in this group knows the timezone for the online interview format interviews?
Tursn out its Thanksgiving weekend so the admission office is closed till monday and my d-day is this saturday ;D

Hello - the answer is that the time-zone for online interviews is Pacific Standard Time.

You can see this when you go and try to book another interview (you should still have access to the portal). The time zone for each country's off-campus/online interview is on the portal when you go to book.

Good luck for your interview!

One thing I noticed- interview spots are available until Dec 31st, weeks after the R1 decision deadline of Dec 14th. Any ideas on what's going on with that?

My guess (focus on word "guess) would be either for people that didn't make it in R1 but are being considered for R2.

OR, and possibly more likely, they actually do invite people to interview "up until the decision date" and those people get a later decision. I don't know man, Haas is weird with their application process.

Yes. Also I’ve not seen any Indian posting an interview invite so there might be some hope.
