Hi everyone,
I took the GMAT test on 13 November and got a disappointing 590 (Q 40, V30).
Could anyone please advise me on how to improve to 650+ ? especially in quant?
I found quant part in the actual GMAT a lot harder than the quant part in GMATPREP software.
Brief explanation about my experience
1. I studied engineering, but my work involves very little maths. Still I hope for 45+ in quant.
1. I have taken GMAT a few times already, this one is my highest score
2. Scored 46+ for quant in mock tests (Veritas and GMATPREP)
3. On the test day, struggled very bad with quant. I could not do the first few questions and the rest just went horribly.
I stressed out and could not even solve some of the easy questions.
4. Material: OG2017, verbal 2016,
power score CR and Manhattan SC
Best Regards,
Tasorn
Hi tkp09,
I think you should solidify your concepts for Quant first. For Quant you can try out the
MGMAT guides they are phenomenal and cover the entire syllabus really well. Just by going through these guides and solving the
OG will help you reach 600+. If you are looking for an online test than I would encourage you to try out
Target Test Prep or Math revolution as both the courses have great reviews on GMATCLUB. I must add that if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in Quant; a subscription to
GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them. Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP,
Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have a good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.
Lastly I would also encourage you to purchase the latest version of the verbal review and GMAPREP QP 1 for some great additional practice. Here is a link that will help you with your decision.
Hope this helps. All the best!
