Honestly, it sounds like this was a rough health period in your life and most Ad Comm will understand. Now the rest of your profile has to. be strong especially your work experience. I would not shy away from this. Explaining your work gap should be highlighted in the application form, optional essay, and interview

Put this in optional or additional information, as others mentioned. Be succinct as you always should be, but provide enough detail to assure them you were under a doctors care at the time, and that this wouldn't be am obstacle in the future. Look sincere and recruitable.
