Hi everyone,
I am new on this forum. First of all, I would like to congratulate all successful applicants. Also, those who didn't make the cut, more relevant experiences await you (I saying it based on personal experience).
I am an Indian citizen and I applied to couple of US MBA programs few years back (not to HBS though). Got W/L/rejected by all schools. Ultimately, decided to do MBA at later stage and instead pursued one year MSc in Sustainable Development from HEC Paris.
Now, after five years, I am applying to HBS in R2. In this regard, I would like to seek some tips regarding the essay especially from the R1 applicants to make it more insightful for the Adcom. It's a very open ended essay and though I believe I have lot to say, I don't want to meander too much and keep it simple and straightforward by covering basic elements viz. my career trajectory, motivation to pursue MBA and that too HBS, future career course I want to take and how I can contribute to the HBS class. Am I thinking in the right direction??
As regards my profile, I have been working with the United Nations and the Indian Ministry of Finance for last three years. Previously, worked for three years with an energy utility company and one year as a management consultant with development consulting firm. I will be submitting GRE Score (Q-166, B-161 & AWA-4). Post MBA, I want to break into impact investment space.
So, I just seek feedback from you guy regarding the essay approach and any other tips. I understand that competition is really tough but I just want to submit an honest and insightful application.
Best
Shubham
