Thanks for sharing your profile. Few things - I would say your GMAT is a bit low for Kellogg and probably on par for the rest of the schools. keep in mind you are coming from a competitive applicant pool so that is something you need to keep in mind. The other area you are a little soft in is your ECs. If you could get more leadership experience in this area, that would help a lot, especially at a school like Kellogg that really cares about prior engagement.
Overall you have a very good profile so just a bit more left to do and you should be in good shape

Hi,
1) Kellogg one year is still going to be competitive, though your other choices will be much more real value-add
2) Goals hazy. You should work with a consultant, not as much to improve your application, but to improve your career goals (for your own long-term directions)
3)IMD will look for longer WE, but INSEAD, LBS and IES are all within reach (with good applications). Keep in mind your ECs and your goals are particularly weak, and I would also suggest look at schools 15-25 for your safe zone schools

Firstly, Thank you for sharing your profile. I think you have an excellent resume here and you have a nice chance of getting in to these targets. You will face a challenge with Kellogg though since their cut-off might be a little more in terms of GMAT. The rest should be fine.

Hi Amit,

You have selected some very competitive programs and therefore I'd like to gain a better understanding of your work-related (and personal life) experiences and achievements, to evaluate how you stand up to the intense competition in your category.
Your GMAT score will be average at most of these b-schools. You may want to retake GMAT for this list of programs. A higher score will also help you earn scholarships.

In terms of b-schools, I believe you are better suited for a two year Kellogg MBA as compared to one year. Any specific reason why you selected the one year MBA, which attracts people with more work experience? Also, for this same reason, I'd recommend not applying to IMD, which attracts applicants with more Work + leadership experience.

REgarding your goals, you will need to think much deeper- what will that short-term managerial position be? why? what will you learn/ achieve there? Similar thinking is required for your long-term goals. You will have to show a logical connection with how your short-term goals and MBA will facilitate the long term goals.

Lastly, which geographies are you open to studying in? And why are you leaning towards the one year MBAs? Any specific reasons here?

Share your resume with us and we could help bring more clarity to the b-school selection and application writing process.
