Re: Calling all UWA Foster MBA Applicants: (2018 Intake) Class of 2020!! [#permalink]
I hope everyone is doing well with the whole application process!

I did my interview yesterday with Dan Poston, the assistant dean.
The interview was very conversational, and I was under impression that Dan read my application very thoroughly. He remembered all the details I put in the resume and essays.
The first question was why MBA and it just naturally flew to why Foster and my goals.
He asked about me -- not just what's on my resume, but even where I was born, how and where I grew up and how I ended up being here.
The conversation lasted a little more than an hour, it was longer than expected because the candidate after me had to wait 10-15min... (Sorry!)
Since he knows pretty much all your presented in your application, he asked if there is anything I want him to know to impact the decision. (Uhhh unexpected question...)
So basically the interview part was about 35-40min, then Q&A time was about 20-25min.

One thing they really emphasize is the "fit" -- make sure you present it well during the interview!

Good luck everyone, I wish this can help the future applicants!

I was told the results would probably be out mid-March. The decision deadline isn't until March 30th, but I was told by my interviewer that the results are usually out a couple weeks early, about 8 weeks from the application deadline.

Hello all,

I'm new to here, and I applied R3 a week ago. I'm curious from the data that two people already got invited for the interview. But I haven't heard anything...Adcom told me they would look at the applications after the deadline. Any clarification?

Thanks

I honestly hope they release the results mid-March. My interviewer, an admissions officer I met in San Francisco, told me that the results would be out around Mar 22, a week earlier than the decision deadline. Fingers crossed! How are you all dealing with your anxiety?

It would be great if they could let is know the results earlier, albeit unofficially!

Hey guys,

Has anymore created a https://gmatclub.com/chat group or other discussion forum for admitted students? If not, kindly drop me your phone numbers at +91 7506799684 so that I can create one. It would be nice and interesting to know your batchmates in advance and may be people in same region can meet. We will keep adding people to the group.

When did you apply? R1 or R2? and when did you get the result?

I wrote to my interviewer on the decision dates and he said while they are trying to get it out before the March 30th date, it may not be possible as they are short staffed.
We may need to wait till March 30th for a result.

binoyvalson I really hope that we don't have to wait until then, but you may be right. I just noticed that the Foster website updated the decision notification date to Mar 30. My deadline to confirm enrollment decisions for other schools is Apr 1, so this would be cutting it too close! Ah, the anxiety and dilemma!! :?

My deadline is March 23! I don't know whether I should risk declining the other school without knowing how I stand at Foster. If I confirm the other school and get admitted at Foster, I would still chose Foster and then lose a lot of money. Not the kind of stress I want now!

Woah, that's a tough call for sure! I am sure you will make the right one, though. Hang in there!
