440-700+, a good strategy?

Raising a 440 to a 700+ will likely take at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. 1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?

4) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi,

To reach a desired score of 700 from 440 certainly needs some hard work and guided study plan. You can opt for MGMAT Guides latest edition and start of from there. They will cover both Q & V. Brush up the basics from these guides and try solving questions available on GMAT club directories. When you start hitting 600 around preparing from GMAT club, go for a good course such as Manhattan, e-gmat, Magoosh etc. Start posting answers on GC that will help you in understanding different approaches to every question. Make an error log from the start of your preparation and keep it update on daily basis. It may take around 4 months of consistent studies to reach 700+ score.

With an August Test Date, you have plenty of time to study and improve - which is good. That having been said, you're going to have to be really 'efficient' with your studies. Many Test Takers who use a 'book heavy' study approach end up getting 'stuck' at a particular score level - and while it might be too early to define whether this has happened to you or not - it is meant to say that you'll likely end up needing to invest in some new, non-book resources. Considering the score improvement that you're looking for, you would likely find it beneficial to invest in a GMAT Course of some type (either Guided Self-Study or instructor-led).

1.) 3 hours a day during the week days and 4 hours during the weekends. Thus, 23 hours in a week.

If you can consistently study 20+ hours each week, then I suspect that you could improve a great deal (especially considering the amount of 'lead time' that you've given yourself). When it comes to studying for the GMAT, there are a variety of different options. Most GMAT Companies offer some type of free materials (practice problems, Trial Accounts, videos, etc.) that you can use to 'test out' a product before you buy it.
