Hi shrutip24,
Thank you very much for your post. Here are a few observations:
Your GMAT score is fantastic, so congratulations on that! Your work experience will also be held in high regard, given the company, your promotions, and the very interesting international and cross-cultural elements to it. How you communicate the richness of that work experience will be extremely important. I encourage you to really try to "unpack the value" of the experiences you've had, thinking through teams and projects you've led, challenges you've faced, lessons you've learned, how you've grown and adapted, how you've impacted the organization and others around you, how you've navigated the challenges of working with teams in other countries, and so on and so forth.
I wouldn't worry too much about lacking physical travel outside of India. Some schools ask about it more explicitly than others, but everyone's circumstances are different, and the international nature of your work experience is far more important. Make sure that comes across in your essays and application. You might also consider devoting a paragraph or two to the topic of international experience in the optional essay. (I've done this effectively with Indian clients in your exact situation before.)
Your extracurriculars look a little light. I'm curious to hear more about that and figure out (a) if there's anything missing or (b) what you can still consider to boost them.
With a 760 and interesting Google work experience, I think you're justified in aiming high with the top end of your application strategy. Wharton will be tough (it always is), but you're definitely justified in trying. I would just make sure it's part of a rational, balanced, and reasonable application strategy that includes reaches, reach/aligned programs, more aligned programs, and possibly even some safer schools (depending on how far "down the rankings" you'd consider going versus waiting and applying next year).
From a more specific school perspective, I'd really want to learn a little more about your career goals (which I also think need a good bit of development... the consulting goal you've mentioned is really vague and generic). If there's a tech element to your goals, then Berkeley-Haas, Tepper, McCombs, Foster, and Anderson are worth looking into further. Sloan, of course, and probably Kellogg as well, but be smart about not tilting too risky with Wharton, Kellogg, Sloan, and Haas all together. Fuqua and Ross have done increasingly good jobs sending graduates into technology as well. But really I'd need to learn more about your short-term career goals to make a better recommendation.
I'd welcome the chance to elaborate and learn more. Please feel free to sign up for a Free Consultation via the link below!
Kind Regards,
Greg
