Hello
pm2812Both the programs fulfill very different requirements and expectations.
The basic features of the two programs may help you to arrive at a decision-
One Year Full Time vs Part Time
1. Program- Residential vs Non Residential
2. Batch Size- Usually small (except ISB) vs Large
3. Equivalent to- MBA vs Executive MBA
4. Covered in global rankings- Yes vs No
5. International Immersion or Internship- Yes vs No
6. Fee- Higher vs Lower
7. Peer group- Experience Professionals on a break vs Professionals working
8. Admission procedure- Grueling, tougher than part time
9. Placement support- Yes
10. Major difference is the whole experience of being in a college and living the MBA
Honestly the main difference is on 3 levels-
1. Placement support
2. Full time dedication to academics (balancing academics with a job and family may be a challenge for some people)
3. Immediate Career Growth
One year MBA can propel you faster into a senior role due to placements and the reputation of the program.
Some recruiters may not take the part time program seriously.
However, if your company requires that for an internal promotion you should have an MBA, then a part time may make more sense.
The time required to complete a part time MBA can be a deal breaker for some (2.5 years, all weekends gone with little time to study during the week due to job)
However not everyone can take a break or spend such money on fees (depends on your personal situation)
With 13 years of experience you surely are on the higher side, but full time programs at IIM (A/B/C) could be helpful.
I can give you the facts, but cannot make the decision for you. However in my opinion, I do not suggest part-time program unless the personal situation really demands it.
All the best.

Hi Experts,
Am in a deep dilemma thinking about 1 yr full time mba or executive weekend MBA from top Indian Universities.
I have close to 13 years experience in Telecom domain focussing on Quality Assurance and testing. Currently QA Manager at top Telecom in India. I want to move out from technical to leadership and management roles now.
I started preparation for GMAT but stopped as I was not getting enough time.
Currently have applied to EGMP at IIMB, Great Lakes & S.p.Jain global for weekend MBA. Will apply to IIM Indore next week.
Will these courses help me to move to top management?
Thanks for all your help.
