Re: Profile evaluation request [#permalink]
Consider the following points patherpachali:
  1. The overall profile arc looks interesting and uncommon. That however also means you'll have to do a lot more in articulating the rationale for your career choices. So make sure you are ready with a compelling pitch.
  2. Second MBA is becoming increasingly popular. Read here and here. Goes with the previous point - have a compelling rationale and always double check once with your target programs.
  3. Since there is time before you apply, make sure you work on the pitch as well as the profile. Check a specific offering here.

Hope this helps some.

Hi patherpachali,

Thank you for your post and for sharing your profile. Below, find my answers to your questions.

1) whether my application would be considered as I already have an MBA degree in HR? Is this an accepted practice in the colleges which I intend to apply to? Pursuing a second MBA can be acceptable especially if you can clearly identify the reason why you require a second MBA. This is where the qualitative portion of the application will be very important. The admissions teams will need to know that you have a clear objective.
2) what chances of selection do I stand based on my profile provided I score a competitive score in GMAT? You belong to an overrepresented body of applicants, so you may experience challenges. Your best bet is to apply to a number of schools (safety, target, and reach) to cover all your bases. Keep in mind that every application is unique and should be approached separately. You should also score 10-20 points above the average GMAT score for the target schools and have a compelling background story that speaks to your diverse experiences. Especially since you already hold an MBA, it will be paramount that you clearly articulate your reasoning behind a second MBA.

I hope this helps. If you are interested in continuing the conversation, please reach out and schedule a free consultation (contact details in signature).

Good luck!

I am planning to apply for an 1 year MBA in fall 2020. So it will be of great help for me to take the call if the following queries are answered:
1) whether my application would be considered as I already have an MBA degree in HR? Is this an accepted practice in the colleges which I intend to apply to?
2) what chances of selection do I stand based on my profile provided I score a competitive score in GMAT?
Thanks in advance for your time!!
