Why is there no activity in this forum? Has the popularity of this program decreased?

Does anyone know how many people apply each year for this program? This is the only program MIT does not publish statistics for?

this thread is very quiet this year. Has the interest in the program decreased? I still haven't decided whether I should apply.

Last year was just an especially talkative batch  Usually MSx and Sloan Fellows forums are quiet because number of applicants is 300-400 people worldwide. Full time MBA programs get over 8,000 applications so they are far more active.

Is this right? 300-400 applicants? That would imply 25% acceptance rate. Quite high in my opinion.

Has anyone attended on-campus tours and student ambassador days? What was your impression after the campus tour? I am going to be on the campus for a day next week.

Anyone else applying in Round 1?

I'm preparing for R1 application.
Although I only have EA score 155 since I'm really busy in project this month, my supervisor(SF alum) recommended me to apply in R1.
He says international applicant should do so.

Is there someone with the same strategy?

Got a chance to meet and talk to four current Fellows and also met five prospective applicants.

The new Sloan GSB building is gorgeous, although cafeteria gets really crowded at lunch. They are constructing more apartments for on-campus housing. There is also a huge ecosystem on campus for entrepreneurship and collaboration, but you have to be active to go join these events and clubs.

Sloan hand-picks people for campus visit under Ambassadors program, so visiting applicants had great resumes and accomplishments. Current Fellows had worked in very challenging leadership roles in their previous jobs / startups and yet it seemed that they crave for bigger goals so they opted for SFMBA.

Consensus among Fellows was that SFMBA is a collaborative culture with "no Fellow left behind" approach, unlike Stanford MSx.

Thank you! This is very useful indeed.

710 on GMAT is superb for this program. How long did you have to prepare for this?

I spent 3 days on GMAT prep, but I am not happy with the result. I ran out of time and missed several questions at the end, so considering retaking the exam in Nov.

I don't think they rank candidates for the Fellows program based on GMAT. For the MBA program yes but not for the Fellows. They use it as a competency threshold. That is what they said on one of the webinars.

Re: Calling all MIT Sloan Fellows Applicants: (2019 Intake) Class of 2020! [#permalink]
Hey Guys,

I took my EA last weekend. Managed a 157 (IR - 11, VA - 11, QA - 15). Had met with the Admissions Team in Mumbai for the breakfast session and they mentioned that 150 should be a good enough score. Though I have a 157, I feel 165+ would have been a great score to carry. Any news on what the average scores are for applicants this year?

I will be applying in R1 and that kind of leaves me with very little time to prepare my essays and reco's.. but trying to put together the best application !

Look forward to hear from all you R1 applicants !

Cheers :)
