Hi Experts!

I'd like to kindly request you for your feedback on my candidacy for INSEAD. Here goes.

Background:
Indian Male
Age 26
GMAT 690
Industry: Media/Public Relations

Education:
Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication from one of the top 10 private colleges in India (GPA 6.77)
Msc Corporate Communication and Reputation management from University of Manchester (2.2)

Work Experience: Total 2+ years (in india)
Worked for 2 years in one of the top three PR companies in the world, focussing on marcomm campaigns for clients totaling over $1 million. Responsible for the planning, budgeting and execution of said campaigns in addition to standard PR work.

Extra curriculars - Football is my passion. Have played up to a semi professional level till my undergrad and have won several trophies while playing

Post MBA Goal - continue my passion for marcomm by working in a leading company like Google/FB/Amazon etc.

INSEAD looks for the following 4 factors in prospective candidates-
1. Ability to Contribute
2. Academic Capability
3. International Motivation
4. Leadership Potential

Your GMAT score and past academic record along with work experience does not bring out your academic capability and leadership potential.

Hello Maxxx17

With 2 years of work ex (which is slightly on the lower end for INSEAD), you will be expected to score slightly higher on the GMAT.
Also considering your Indian background and lower past scores, you will need a higher GMAT score to compensate.
Coming to your work ex, talk more abut your career progress, achievements at work and business impact.
Similarly with your extracurricular activities, showcase your contribution and impact. School/college activities usually do not carry much weight unless yiu have achieved something spectacular.
Lastly coming to your career goals, if you wish to continue on the same path, why do you need an MBA. You should show a compelling need of an MBA and what your specific long term goals are.
You may want to read here to know what factors you will need to work on in your written application and here on building a career goals narrative.

Apologies for the delay in responding to you. However, we hope this will be of help to you still.

Considering your overall profile and the fact that your experience is on the lower end of the spectrum for INSEAD, we recommend a GMAT retake. A higher score will not only help compensate for a low GPA but also help establish your academic potential.

Beyond the GMAT, of course, much depends on the essays you put forth, particularly the fact that your career goals sync in with your existing experience.
