How important are Gmat scores post interview? Do they really play a big role in final convert? Is there a correlation between the score and your workex?

gambit1992 A standard answer will be your whole profile matters aka it's a holistic score aka we look for well rounded individuals aka gmat score is only a small part of the picture.... So i would just keep calm and wait for the result day.

Hi Guys,
Anyone from delhi who was expecting an invite and didnt get one?
I have a decently high GMAT with 3 years of good work ex.Should I expect an invite for the hyderabad location?
Thanks

Be hopeful. You can get invited to Mohali as well[/quote
To be honest, chances are bleak. I was waiting for a call myself before I finally got the call on 10th night (for 13th Delhi). During that time, a friend from IsB asked the adcom if they will be inviting people from Delhi. Adcom confirmed that 99% of the people from Delhi who they want to interview will get interviewed between 12 and 14 oct.

My interview was pretty straight forward
1)Walk us through your cv 2)Why MBA, why now and why isb (10 mins ) 3)How will you contribute 4)Asked me to elaborate on the initiative I led for an ngo 5) Ahobby 6)Any questions for us
My interview lasted for 40 mins, of which 10-12 mins them answering the question I asked them

Had an additional question: What did you ask the interviewers? If you might care to share.
Reflect deeper. I am sure you will be able to come up with one intelligent question you really want to ask some an alum

I called them and they said they had limited slots in delhi so we may call you to hyderabad.
My profile is as follows:
GMAT: 730 Undergrad: BITS Pilani Work Ex: 3 years as the Operations Head in an early stage startup
So I am really surprised that I did not even get an interview invite. Anyway, hoping i do get one from hyderabad or mohali.

R1 is 30 percent of the total applications. I guess that's a decent number. R2 will be around 4000. So the total applicants is around 5000 approximately. At 8:5 ratio that should come to 3000 interview invites. Heard that selectivity at isb is around 22% of total applications. As their total intake is 900, that should make it 3000:900 ratio. That's for both Hyd and Mohali campuses.

1:8 would mean that they call approximately 7200 applicants for interview. I am no data expert as of today, but this seems a bit off.
Hey 1:8 is the final selection ratio. Around 4k might be called for interview.
They just got 1200 applications in round one this year. I have a couple of friends studying there currently who confirmed

Dear gambit1992,
GMAT Scores definitely play a role in final convert.
Depending on the industry you come from, GMAT plays a major role.
For example, IT pool is THE MOST competitive pool in ISB applications. Hence higher the score the better are chances. In case an applicant is from an industry that brings in the diversity factor to the class (ex: Shipping, Fashion etc.) then above average GMAT score is good enough.
Hope that answers your question.
Please feel free to reach out for any additional quesries related to ISB admission.
All the Best !
