IMHO (A), nothing wrong with the original sentence....

MANHATTAN REVIEW OFFICIAL EXPLANATION:



The singular verb ‘knows’ in B incorrectly refers to the plural subject ‘her new listeners and her old fans’. The use of the past ‘knew’ in C is incorrect. Choice D incorrectly uses ‘would have to be posted’. ‘Must be posted’ is more efficient. It also incorrectly uses the past ‘what was going on’. E incorrectly uses the past perfect ‘what had been’. Choice A is the correct answer.
