The x-intercept occurs at the point where y = 0
So, plug y = 0 into the equation to get: 3x + 2(0) = 6
Solve to get x = 2
So, the x-intercept is 2

The y-intercept occurs at the point where x = 0
So, plug x = 0 into the equation to get: 3(0) + 2y = 6
Solve to get y = 3
So, the y-intercept is 3

What is the sum of the x intercept and y intercept of this line?
Sum = 2 + 3 = 5

Answer: D

We need to find the sum of x intercept and y intercept of the line 3x + 2y = 6

We can find the x intercept by putting y = 0, as x intercept is the point where the line intersects the x-axis. And all points on the x-axis have y coordinate=0

=> 3x + 2*0 = 6
=> x = \(\frac{6}{3}\) = 2

We can find the y intercept by putting x = 0, as y intercept is the point where the line intersects the y-axis. And all points on the y-axis have x coordinate=0

=> 3*0 + 2y = 6
=> y = \(\frac{6}{2}\) = 3

=> Sum of x intercept and y intercept = 2 + 3 = 5

So, Answer will be D

At x intercept \(y = 0\)

So, \(3x+2y=6\)

Or, \(3x+2*0=6\)

Thus, \(x = 2\)

At y intercept \(x = 0\)

So, \(3x+2y=6\)

Or, \(3*0+2y=6\)

Thus, \(2y = 6\)

Hence, \(y = 3\)

\(x + y = 5\), Answer must be (D)

At x intercept, y=0
3x+2y=6
x=2

At y intercept, x=0
3x+2y=6
y=3

x+y =2+3 =5

Answer D
