Hi Guys,

I recently got to know ISB has launched a new R3 this year. I discussed this with few alums. One of the alum suggested this a scary thing for any school. As per him this shows that the school has not been able to generate the kind of interest it expected and to lure more candidates it is launching a new round.

He was also of the opinion that this will have no major impact on the quality of students as serious top 1200 candidates would have anyway applied.

Most of the US schools have seen a huge dip in interest and schools in all the other geographies have been benefited with an increase in % of applicants. I was quite surprised after seeing this new development as it questions the demand for the school. Would love to know the opinion of the people on this thread.

With many IIMs are now offering 1 year MBA programs, good alternatives for ISB have certainly increased, but I don't think that'd reduce the demand for ISB given the high reputation, prestige, and strong connections with the industry ISB has and that too when the number of applicants interested in 1 year MBA is increasing continuously. I think there could be another reasons for starting R3.

Jumping late into this party and the conversation may now be obsolete, given its 15 days old. My understanding is, they messed up their application deadlines. For several years now, they have done mid October (R1) and mid January (R2). This year they did Mid September and mid Decmber. Applicants were not ready with GMAT scores et al, with no dates available (a lot of them also apply to US b-schools and take their GMATs during the Holiday break). That's why they allowed applicants to submit GMAT scores late in R1 cycle.

I think its got nothing to do with demand, but more of a logistical mishap. From what I have heard, ISB has had extremely successful placements this year, which testfies the school's reputation.

Hey,

Can someone please confirm which is the last date for the recommender to submit ? Is it Jan 15 too ?

I have upload his details in the portal.

How long until he receives the email from ISB with the questions ?

Best of Luck to all those applying to ISB !!

The Bangalore interview dates are 2-3 Feb, 2019, and interview invites are expected to go out 4-5 days prior to these dates.
